Clinical Documentation System

RESPIRATORY THERAPY

Who are we?

Amber is a clinical documentation and tracking system created exclusively by and for respiratory therapists. Built through collaboration with respiratory education leaders at the well-known Lindsey Jones University and contributing respiratory therapy colleges and universities, Amber is designed to reflect the real needs of respiratory therapy programs—not repurposed workflows from other healthcare professions.

Led by Dennis Stanley, CEO of Lindsey Jones University, and Jerry King, Program Director at the University of West Alabama, Amber focuses on simplicity, accuracy, and efficiency. The system streamlines clinical and laboratory documentation, competency tracking, and preceptor sign-offs, reducing administrative burden for both students and instructors.

By eliminating unnecessary features and focusing solely on respiratory therapy education, Amber makes clinical experience documentation clear, intuitive, and reliable—allowing programs to spend less time managing paperwork and more time developing confident, competent respiratory therapists.

Dennis Stanley's motivation behind creating Amber grew directly from his close collaboration with educators and students. He repeatedly encountered frustration with existing clinical tracking systems that were not designed for respiratory therapy, relied on unfamiliar terminology, and included unnecessary features that complicated instruction and documentation. In response, Dennis assembled a team of experienced developers, respiratory therapists and instructors to build Amber—a web-based clinical documentation system created exclusively for respiratory therapy. Amber reflects real clinical practice, supports both laboratory and clinical experiences, and provides a streamlined, intuitive solution that finally meets the true needs of respiratory therapy students and educators.
